Where it started...
The installers for Audacity 1.0 for Windows 98 (.exe, 32 bit intel) and Mac OS 9 (.sit, PowerPC). Note:
- The Mac OS 9 version DOES NOT run on OS X or modern macOS machines. You might be able to get it emulated in QEMU.
- The installer will attempt to install Audacity into the same folder as your active Audacity. Make sure you tell it to install somewhere else (eg C:\Program files\Audacity 1.0\)
- Audacity 1.0 projects are not compatible with modern Audacity versions. You'll need to export as WAV to get your audio out of Audacity.
- This version is entirely unsupported.
